It was the end of 2017, and we at Unbxd had some exciting news to share - we had just taken part in the Amazon AI Conclave. and won! For those unfamiliar, the Amazon AI Conclave is a two-day event hosted by Amazon that celebrates the increasing importance of AI among emerging startups. It's a chance for companies to share their knowledge and for the most innovative AI solutions to be recognized with awards.
Any B2B or B2C company offering AI-based solutions that leverage Amazon's AWS services were eligible to apply for the awards. We were one of the 300+ applicants in the Retail and ecommerce category. After making it to the shortlist, we had to present our solution to a jury of industry experts, including the Head of AWS India and the CEO of Times Internet.
It was a tough competition, but we were thrilled to come out on top in our category and receive a special mention from the jury! Prasad Joshi, Head of Data Science and Relevance, presented our story: "What set us apart from the other applicants was our vision for the future and our understanding of the subtle nuances in search and product discovery as you move from vertical to vertical. Our one-size-fits-all problem-solving approach and ability to build pluggable ML modules in line with the customer's requirement ultimately helped us win."
This award is a testament to our dedication to solving ecommerce companies' search and product discovery challenges. We couldn't have asked for a better way to end the year, and we're excited to see what 2018 has in store for us!
